Bowl in Kasama Clay by Shungo Nemoto

This bowl is by Shungo Nemoto, a ceramicist based in Kasama.  An emerging potter in the Kasama scene, Nemoto makes carefully created forms, which in this case highlight the properties of the ceramic clay found locally.  His work is rooted in Japanese styles and shapes, by takes influences from a variety of sources that reflect his ceramic imagination.  Recognised in artistic award categories in Japan, Shungo Nemoto is among Kasama’s new generation of creators.
