Terada Mokei 1/100 Architectural Model Set: No.69 Christmas
Masters of miniature paper design challenges, Terada Mokei, present a Christmas themed architectural model.
In the 1/100 scale, work with careful, fiddly, precision on Christmas morning to construct this decorated tree, and accompanying cast.
Slightly windswept and stylish, an architectural rendering of Santa with a single reindeer looks on at the scene. There is also a reference too, to the Japanese practice of skating over the original meaning of Christmas, and using the time of year to go on dates.
Oddly compelling, and potentially hours of fun and challenge, this is the task you need to complete, or indeed the ideal gift for the lover of architectural precision in your life.
Terada Mokei is a project of British trained Japanese architect Naoki Terada, working in collaboration with the family run Fukunaga Print Company, from western Tokyo. Originally aimed at architects, the series has developed a mass appeal, and its own miniature world. This is model number 69 out of a collectable series of 93.
The pack is 17cm high and 11cm wide. The tree is a 1/100 rendering of a 10metre tree, and so 10cm.
