Katakuchi Vessel for Sake by Tatsushi Nemoto
This katakuchi is by ceramicist Tatsushi Nemoto. A katakuchi is a vessel that would traditionally be used for pouring sake, and there is an aspect of ritual to the experience. Nemoto's skill in engraving into the surface of this works as displayed in this piece, would add further drama still to the moment. In some places he has included a traditional segaiha fan design pattern within the overall waves and movement of the piece. A striking presence on the table, it is a work that would catch the eye wherever it was stored.
