Seihodo Kutani Cutlery Rest: Komon Pattern
Kutani-ware is one of Japan's great porcelain traditions. Alongside Arita on the southern Kyushu island, and Tobe-ware found in Shikoku, the porcelain made in the area of Kutani in Ishikawa is known for its bright colours on a white background.
Seihodo are one of the modern makers working in this style, and produce bold and expressive ceramics. These 'komon' pattern chopstick or cutlery rests give a colourful sense of the Ishikawa dining table.
