Salad Bowls by Yōki-gama
These bowls were made and hand painted by Kimiko Tanaka at her Yōki-gama kiln.
Working within the blue and white Tobe-ware tradition of Ehime, Tanaka’s work is notable for the quality of its brush work.
Here Tanaka uses the relatively large canvas offered by these salad bowl size vessels to apply extensive pattern work, and large motifs.
These include expressive peony flowers, and twisting ‘octopus’ branches.
We have one bowl in each design, and they are approximately 18.5cm in diameter, and 10cm high. They weigh around 690g.
