Tea Pot by Yukikatsu Isobe
The teapot was made by Yukikatsu Isobe at his family's pottery works in Kasama. A practicing potter since 1966, Isobe is still exploring, still learning. This pot is a variation on a classic form, and is of small dōbin type, but with a ceramic upper handle. Each part of the pot, including the clay mesh on this inner, were made by Isobe and assembled to create the overall piece. The skill of a craftsperson is at the heart of the daily practice of the veteran generation ceramicists that Isobe represents.
