Fujiso, a fourth generation family firm, work in the Banko-ware regional pottery tradition.

Only made in Yokkaichi in Mie, west-central Japan, Banko-ware is known for its unfussy colour palette, and its quality.

Fujiso specialise in tea ware, and this simple brown 'yakishime' style pot is an easy companion for making tea.

A kyusu, its side handle makes it easy to completely empty each brew of liquid, before making the next.

The inner of the pot is finished in glass effect glaze. The hundred perforations on the internal rim, and rounded spout entrance allow for a smooth pour with no escape of leaves.
