About wholesale
This tea pot is from the Okaueyakumo line which is a project of renowned ceramicist Kōji Toda. Known principally for his large piece gallery work, Toda's teaware shows another aspect to his work in pottery. The factor which connects the different areas, is a sense of style and a sense of peace.
This kyūsu style side handled tea pot is finished in a unique and affecting clouded blue shade. The attention to detail and skill in creation is visible at every location, including the perforated ceramic dome on the pot inner, and the precision created lid.

About Kōji Toda / Okaueyakumo
In his ceramics, Kōji Toda touches a distant past, and a spiritual sense. A former footballer, he made a dramatic change in his life when he switched to ceramics in 2002. Today he is known for his brooding large pieces of yakishime (unglazed pottery that takes it shades and patterns from the kiln movements of ash) that recall ancient metalwork or the Sue ware pottery of the 5th-8th centuries. He uses clay that he finds himself on mountain walks, and fires in a wood-fired kiln. In Toda’s hands the forms are imbued with something ineffable. Full of mystique and repose, there is some continuity in his large pieces to the ceramics he makes for the home under name Okaueyakumo (eight clouds above a hill). This principally is a range of teaware, that provide their own moment of peace when used.
