This Kyūsu style side handled tea pot is by Kasama based ceramicist Yukihito Nakata.

Nakata's family ceramic works produce traditionally made Japanese ceramics of ready quality.

The ceramicist often turns to the tobiganna chisel tool for surface decoration in his work, and this pot is an example of this.

With its cloudy white glaze shade, and outsize handle it is both a nice addition to the table, and a functional piece of Japanese tea ware.
