This ‘benri’ (convenient) cooking pot was made in Tsubame by the Gyokkodō company.
Living up to its name, it is truly a useful cooking utensil.
Made with the user in mind, it can contain 2.8 litres of liquid, and be easily gripped by its dual handles. Levels for cooking are displayed on the inner surface of the pan.
It can be used on gas or IH appliances.
Part of the Marutama brand series, in its design the pan hints at the post-war classic forms in metal that became fixtures in Japanese kitchens.
It is imprinted on one side with the Made in Tsubame logo: a metallic representation of the kanji character for the town, which also has the meaning of a swallow.
It is 323mm wide, and 135mm high, with a 220mm diameter. The pan weights 1210g, and has a capacity of 2800ml.
It is made in 18/8 stainless steel, with wood handles and lid knob.
