Taiko are sock specialists based in Nagano, north central Japan.  Experts in the technical manufacture of sports socks, in recent years they have developed their original brand, and embarked on new adventures in woven footwear.  This includes a return to the roots of pre-western style socks in Japan, the split toed ‘tabi’ once commonly worn with sandals.  They also have lines that push the frontiers of modern sock manufacture and which reflect the nature and inspiration they find in their Nagano base.   Taiko’s production facility is a dense collection of weave machines that they operate to imbue technical quality and soul into the fabric guardians of Japanese feet.
