This green tea was grown and selected by the Sueshige family in Kirishima.

Grown with an early season variety, Yutaka Midori (‘rich green’) is the first of the new teas each year in the Sueshige selection.  It has an attractive colour, soft taste and fresh aroma.  Its easy drinking character makes it a popular tea, that can also been made in cold brews, as well as enjoyed hot.

The pack contains 100g of leaf tea, and is 11cm by 23 cm.  It is attractively presented.

The Sueshige family’s tea fields can be seen from the windows of aircraft approaching Kagoshima’s main airport, which is in the Kirishima region.  This inspires the pack design for this tea.

About Sueshige Tea

Kirishima to the south of Satsuma, sits at the foot of the Takachiho no Mine volcano range. Here the altitude leads to a colder climate, and a distinctive Kagoshiman terroir for tea. When brewed, Kirishima teas often offer a quite thin green colour, that deceives to the level of taste. The brews are in fact fresh, sophisticated and satisfying. The Sueshige family business has been farming teas in the region since 1932 and understands all of its characteristics. The recipient of awards in the world of tea, they daily explore the potential of Kirishima tea making.
