Shipping and gift wrapping during Covid-19
Our approach to online orders during Covid-19, and our approach to gifts.
We wanted to write a note to cover two aspects of how we are operating in the present circumstances.
Firstly in general, and secondly on the specific point of how you can send a gift to someone, even if you can not physically meet. The most important point within all of this, is that we will take no risks with the health of anyone within our current operations.
All orders are fulfilled by us in person and use the Royal Mail, with social distancing is observed throughout. For gifts, we know that it increasingly difficult to give them in person, and for some it is not possible to access the post office to send them.
Gift giving is daily life in Japan, and we take it very seriously. When checking out at our online shop, if you select gift wrapping we will complete this in a traditional Japanese way, with coloured paper and a mizuhiki.
In the case that the shipping and billing address are for different individuals then we will assume it is a gift being sent directly, and not include a receipt, unless requested differently.*
(*If you would like to return or exchange a product sent as a gift, we would be able to do this subject to our normal returns policy, with e-mailed proof of purchase).
To deliver packages we use Royal Mail, and will provide you with a tracking number for your order. We are currently offering free UK shipping for orders over £30.
When sending directly, we would be happy to include a hand written message to the person you are sending a gift to, and you can request this via the ’special instructions’ form when checking out.
For any other special requests, please do not hesitate to be in touch with us directly.
