About Sakai Uchibumo blades

Following the introduction of tobacco to Japan by Portuguese visitors, a small industry for tobacco knives grew in Sakai, south of modern day Osaka, in the late 16th century.  This gained quality approval from the Tokugawa shogunate, and a reception for exceptional knife work that continues to this day.

Use and care

A steel blade, the knife is extremely sharp.  To prevent rust, avoid dishwasher use, or extended contact with water.  Dry with a soft cloth after use.

Knives can only be legally sold to over 18s, and by purchasing one you confirm you are over this age.  A courier age verification charge will be included in the shipping.
