About wholesale
This large cup (essentially a mug) by Shinya Take, shows the rich colours of his organically created glaze shades. Using the ash of hinoki wood and rice husks, he gently brews a solution to be added to his pieces prior to their main firing. These natural colours sit on the dark clay to create a beautiful effect to hold and admire.
Size: 11.5 x 8.5 x 9.7cm
Weight: 330g
About Shinya TakeShinya Take is representative of the creative wealth in Kasama ceramics. His pieces can be found in cafes in the town, or from the stand he mans himself at ceramic fairs in the town. While they may be encountered in this way, his ceramics are themselves an outcome of painstaking craft process. Take makes his glazes from hinoki and rice husk ash, bringing rich, natural, and slightly subdued shades to the surface of his pieces - according with the aesthetic tenets of Japanese tea ware.
