Stationery Stand by Shin Kogei
These cylindrical stands are by Shin Kogei, a traditional maker based in Hida-Takayama, in Gifu.
They can be used to hold pens, or perhaps chopsticks or other items.
Printed on to the fine locally made paper, the design depicts the famous deep-roofed thatched housing in nearby Shirakawa. This region of Japan is known for its wintry nature, and its tradition in craft.
